Nov 17 : Indian Catholic Youth Movement Belthangady Deanery along with Indian Catholic Youth Movement Naravi unit organized "SPORTS MANIA - 2023" on Sunday, 5th November 2023 at St Antony Church Ground, Naravi.

The inaugural ceremony began at 10am by invoking God's blessing through a prayer song. Fr.Valerian Fernandes - Director, ICYM Naravi Unit, Fr.Alwyn Serrao - Principal of St Antony Degree College, Naravi; Fr.Praveen D'Souza - Director, ICYM Belthangady Deanery; Mr.Sanjay Miranda and Mrs.Eugine Pereira - Vice President and Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council Naravi; Mr Rohan Pereira- Animator, ICYM Naravi Unit; Sushanth Fernandes - Treasurer, I.C.Y.M Mangalore diocese; Elvin Prashanth D'cunha and Lavita Lobo – President and Secretary of I.C.Y.M Belthangady Deanery; Lynal Pereira - Sports secretary, ICYM Belthangady Deanery; Manoj Dsilva and Risha Mathias - President and Secretary of ICYM Naravi unit were present on the dais.
 
Elvin Prashanth D'cunha - President of ICYM Belthangady Deanery welcomed the gathering.The guest inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. Fr.Valerian Fernandes, Fr.Alwyn Serrao and Fr.Praveen D'Souza encouraged the youths by their valuable words. Risha Mathias - secretary of ICYM Naravi unit rendered the vote of thanks for the inaugural ceremony.

After the inauguration, Cricket and Throwball match was inaugurated by cutting the ribbon of the courts. This event included cricket and tug of war for boys and throwball for the girls of age 16 - 28. All the units were allowed to form two teams for each competition. 9 units took active part in this tournament.

After the tournament, the valedictory program was held. Fr. Walter Dmello - Vicar Forane of Belthangady Deanery; Fr.Valerian Fernandes - Director of ICYM Naravi Unit; Fr. Praveen Dsouza - Director of ICYM Belthangady Deanery; Mr.Sanjay Miranda - Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council,Naravi; Mr Rohan Pereira- Animator, ICYM  Naravi Unit; Lianna Rodrigues - Representative of ICYM Belthangady deanery; Anil Sequeira - Immediate past president of I.C.Y.M Mangalore Diocese; Sushanth Fernandes -Treasurer, I.C.Y.M Mangalore Diocese; Elvin Prashanth D'cunha and Lavita lobo - President and Secretary of I.C.Y.M Belthangady Deanery; Lynal Pereira - Sports secretary, ICYM Belthangady Deanery; Manoj Dsilva and Risha Mathias - President and Secretary of ICYM Naravi unit were present on the dais.

Lavita Lobo -Secretary of ICYM Belthangady Deanery rendered vote of thanks to each and everyone. The whole event was compered by Jovel Fernandes .The Valedictory Ceremony came to an end with the I.C.Y.M anthem, released during National Youth Conference.

The day ended with a baila dance. Overall the program was a great success with almost 300 youth present.
