Jul 2 : Indian Catholic Youth Movement Mangalore Diocese welcomed the New Youth Director Rev. Fr Ashwin Lohith Cardoza on July 2nd 2020 at 10.00 A.M. at Olivet House in Jeppu, Mangalore.
The Oath Taking Ceremony began with a prayer led by ICYM Executive Members. Leon Saldanha – President ICYM Mangalore Diocese gave a brief introduction about ICYM and Olivet house and then welcomed the guests and the gathering.
Very Rev. Fr Peter Dsouza – Director Pastoral Institute Bajjodi Mangalore, Very Rev. Fr Victor Machado – Vicar Forane City Deanery, Fr Ashwin Lohith Cardoza - Designated Director ICYM Mangalore Diocese, Fr Ronald Prakash Dsouza -Director ICYM Mangalore Diocese, Leon Saldanha – President ICYM Mangalore Diocese ,Veena Vas – General Secretary ICYM Mangalore Diocese were the dignitaries on the dias.
Rev. Fr Peter Dsouza, Bishop’s representative read the appointment letter after which the Oath Taking Ceremony was conducted.
Fr Ashwin Lohith Cardoza took the charge as Director of ICYM Mangalore Diocese from Fr Ronald Prakash Dsouza.
Fr Victor Machado addressed the gathering and said he has been with Fr Ashwin from past 13 months and 10 days and seen him serving enthusiastically in Cordel parish . He wished him all the best on behalf of all the Cordel parishioners and congratulated him.
Fr Ronald Prakash D’souza appriciated all the youth leaders and spoke about the youth leaders who are shining in the Regional, National and International levels and appreciated their service and wished Fr Ashwin all the best.
Fr Ashwin Lohith Cardoza in his speech addressed the youth saying “Let's walk in the Youth Ministry and work together"
Fr Peter Dsouza welcomed the New Director Fr Ashwin Cardoza and expressed his gratitude to Rev. Fr Ronald D'Souza, outgoing director of ICYM Mangalore diocese.
Veena Vas – Secretary proposed the vote of thanks.
As a Symbolic representation, Fr Ashwin Lohith Cardoza , New ICYM Director and Youth Commission Secretary planted saplings and donated blood to Red Drop Mangalore which signifies the youth as fruit sapling making the society more fruitful. Also if there is blood, there is life. Similarly without youth, society will be lifeless and youth should always be filled with life and enthusiasm.
