Sep 2 : Indian Catholic Youth Movement Central Council, Diocese of Mangalore conducted a two days training program for all the Central Council members on the 28th and 29th of August, 2021. The program began at 5:30PM. Rev Fr Ashwin Lohith Cardoza - the Diocesan Director of ICYM, Mr Jaison Lawrence Crasta - Diocesan President, Ms Blairil Vishma D’Cunha - General Secretary and all the Diocesan executive committee members were present for the programme.

The first session on “How to conduct a stage programme and its protocols” was conducted by Mr Roshan Madtha. Mr Terrence Levy Crasta - Vice President, welcomed the guest speaker and Ms Fevisha Monteiro - Regional Lady Representative gave the vote of thanks. Mr Jaison Leroy Pereira - ICYM Karnataka Regional President, gave a memento as token of gratitude to the speaker. The session was quite interesting and informative. The speaker also gave insights on what type of programmes could be conducted pertaining to the current scenario. Overall it was an interactive session. 

Later, all the Central Council Members took part in praying the Rosary. It was led by Ms Elsita Trincy Cardoza – the PRO and Mr Pradeep Prajwal Rosario a nominated member. It was followed by dinner and later the leaders shared their experiences.

The second day started with a Eucharistic celebration followed by the next session on "Ice Breaking and games" which was conducted by Mr Nobert Misquith. Ms Sapna Gonsalves – the Lady Vice President welcomed the speaker, Ms Jasmine Veigas, President - Mogarnad Deanery, proposed the vote of thanks and Mr Leon Loyd Saldanha - Immediate Past President gave a memento as token of gratitude to the speaker. The leaders got to learn a variety of games and action songs which could be used in the future. Overall it was a fun and an interactive session. 

The second session of the day was on "Team work", which was conducted by Mr Manoj Fernandes. Mr Anil John Sequeira - Treasurer welcomed the speaker, Ms Vinitha Reshma D’Souza - Amcho Yuvak Representative proposed the vote of thanks and Mr Jaison Lawrence Crasta – the President, gave a memento as token of gratitude to the speaker. Different insights regarding teamwork were given by the speaker. The session was made interactive by including various activities which had a high impact on the listeners. 

After the sessions, the first Council meeting of the Central Council members was held, followed by lunch and departure. 

Overall the sessions created a spark in the minds of the participants and everyone gained a lot of knowledge on how to conduct programmes, work as a team and work efficiently as youth leaders, empowering other youth to become future leaders of society.
