Oct 2 : Indian Catholic Youth Movement Central Council, Diocese of Mangalore in Collaboration with ICYM Episcopal City Deanery and ICYM (Catholic Action League) Bendur Unit organised "Somya Sovem Dhed Vor - A Time with the Lord", a special prayer and adoration for the youth on 29th September 2021 from 6:30PM to 8:00PM at St Sebastian Church, Bendur.

Jaison Lawrence Crasta, President of ICYM Central Council welcomed the gathering. Episcopal City Deanery Director Rev Fr Ronson Pinto compered the Prayer session. The prayer session started off with Hymns led by Bendur Church Choir. Rev Dr Vincent Sequeira, Incharge for Biblical Ministry and Asst Director, Mangala Jyothi gave spiritual insights from the Holy Bible on Faith and hope and also emphasized on how the younger generation should take life as a blessing and live it with full hope. He also threw some light on how problems help us get stronger in life and never lose hope in life and believe in Christ without having any doubts.

A special Adoration was conducted by Rev Fr Clifford Fernandes, Parish Priest of Cordel. During the adoration all the youth silently gave thanks to the Lord for all the blessings they have received so far in their lives and gave glory to Him for all the privileges they have in their lives. The adoration touched each and every soul and embarked a spiritual elixir in the hearts and minds of the people present.

This was the first official programme in the 75th year. The main intention of having this prayer and adoration session was to implore the Almighty’s blessings on all the upcoming events of the Diocese and also to instill a ray of hope in the minds of youth who are weakened emotionally due to the current scenario and the pandemic.

Blairil Vishma Dcunha, General Secretary, ICYM Central Council proposed the vote of thanks. Rev Fr Ashwin Lohith Cardoza, ICYM Diocesan Director handed over the token of gratitude and appreciation to the preachers Rev Dr Vincent Sequeira and Rev Fr Clifford Fernandes. Fevisha Venisha Monteiro, ICYM Diocesan Regional Lady Representative handed over the token of gratitude to Most Rev Fr Vincent F Monteiro, Vicar Forane, Episcopal City Deanery and Parish Priest Bendur for his wholehearted support and co-operation. Sapna Gonsalves, ICYM Diocesan Lady Vice President handed over the token of gratitude to Rev Fr Ronson Pinto, Director Episcopal City Deanery and Sanjay Orwin D'Souza, President, ICYM Episcopal City Deanery for their support and co-operation in organising the event. Anil John Sequeira, ICYM Diocesan Treasurer handed over the token of gratitude to Winston Allan Paul Saldanha, President ICYM (CAL) Bendur Unit for the tremendous support rendered in organising the event.

Overall it was a great session organised by the Central Council exclusively for the Youth all over the Diocese which has not just instilled spiritualism but also an essence of hope and faith.
