Oct 22 : Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) of St. Dominic Ashoknagar Parish organized Dominican Football League 2021 for parishioners on 17th October 2021 at Church playground.

Five teams were formed and team managers selected their players through a selection process on 3rd October 2021 at 11a.m. in the church hall. Rules and instructions of the tournament were given to the teams. Doubts of the teams were cleared by the ICYM sports committee.

On 17th October 2021 the day began with the inauguration ceremony at 11 am with prayer and blessing of the playground and players. Parish Priest and Director of ICYM, Rev. Fr. Daniel Veigas, Assistant parish priest Rev. Fr. Dileep Veigas, Vice-President of the Parish council Maxim Crasta and Animator of ICYM Deborah Locker were  present. Parish Priest and Assistant Parish Priest inaugurated the football league and conveyed their good wishes to the teams.

Colin Castelino and Ian Mascarenhas were the referees for the tournament. 'Legion United' emerged winners and 'Ashoknagar Titans' were runners up of the tournament.

Parish Priest congratulated the winners, all the participants and above all the ICYM members for the hard work and team spirit and for organising a successful event.

The winners were awarded with trophies and the cash prizes. ICYM Secretary Preethisha Menezes proposed the vote of thanks. Welwin Castelino compered the event.
