April 10 : On April 6th, 2025, the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) of Immaculate Conception Church, Mulki, organized a spiritually enriching Taizé Prayer service at St. Joseph Hall, Karnad, Mulki, beginning at 6:30 PM. The event was held as part of the Lenten season, offering the faithful a peaceful time of prayer, silence, and reflection.
The prayer service was conducted by Rev. Fr. Flavian Lobo and prayerfully led by the renowned Blue Angels Choir (BAC), whose harmonies beautifully complemented the meditative nature of the evening. Known for their tagline, “Igniting bliss through harmonies,” the choir created a tranquil and sacred ambiance through soft chants and hymns that guided participants into a spirit of deep reflection.
A key highlight of the evening was the aesthetically designed altar, which was uniquely built using bricks and adorned with glowing diyas. The warm illumination of the diyas, set against the backdrop of the simple brick arrangement, symbolized light amidst darkness and offered a powerful visual reminder of hope, peace, and God’s abiding presence. The candle-lit atmosphere enhanced the sacredness of the prayer and added to the solemnity of the occasion.
The theme for the evening centered around the Scripture verse from Matthew 11:28: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” This message resonated deeply with all present, inviting them to lay down their burdens and rest in the comfort of God’s love.
ICYM Mulki, under the guidance of its animator and parish leadership, planned and executed the event with great devotion and care. The team ensured that all arrangements reflected the simplicity and sanctity of the Taizé tradition. The event witnessed active participation from parishioners, youth, and families who left the venue spiritually uplifted and grateful for the opportunity to experience such a moving form of worship.
