April 3 : On March 30, 2025, ICYM Indabettu Unit in collaboration with ICYM Belthangady Deanery organized the annual youth retreat, 'Daivik Sparsh', at St. Francis Xavier Church, Indabettu. The event witnessed an overwhelming participation of over 90 youths.
The retreat commenced with breakfast, and at 10:00 a.m. sharp, the program began. Dora Vegas expertly compered the entire program, ensuring a seamless flow of events.
The highlight of the morning session was the launch of "Career Compass", a career guidance book by YCS, attended by distinguished guests, including Rev. Fr. Anil Avild Lobo, Director of YCS Belthangady Deanery; Rev. Fr. Walter D'Mello, Director of Belthangady Unit ; Rev. Fr. Praveen D'Souza, Director of ICYM Belthangady Deanery; Santhosh D'Souza, Animator of YCS Belthangady Deanery ; Rev. Fr. Stany Monthero, Director of Indabettu Unit; Vivian D'Souza, YCS Belthangady Deanery President; Iona Fernandes, YCS Belthangady Deanery Secretary; Dr. Joyston D'Souza, Representative of ICYM Belthangady Deanery; and Rev. Fr. Clany, the Chief Guest.
The main attraction of the retreat was Rev. Fr. Clany's inspiring session, accompanied by brothers who added a musical touch with their instruments and soulful choir. The morning sessions included action songs, talks, confessions, and Mass, all of which were deeply appreciated by the participants.
After lunch, the participants embarked on the Way of the Cross, culminating in a spiritual adoration. The adoration was a profound experience, with everyone present being deeply moved by the spiritual atmosphere. It was indeed a highlight of the retreat.
Two participants shared their personal experiences about the retreat, expressing how it had impacted their lives and deepened their faith.
The valedictory program in the evening featured a token of appreciation presented to Rev. Fr. Clany. The Manjotty Unit was awarded a trophy for the highest participation on a unit percentage basis.
With hearts filled with joy, peace, and spiritual renewal, the retreat concluded at 4:00 p.m. The participants were then served refreshments, bringing to a close a memorable and spiritually enriching experience for all.
