July 11 : In a collaborative effort with the Environment Commission, the ICYM Farla of Bantwal Deanery organized the Vanamahotsava on Sunday 2nd July 2023. The event took place at the Our Lady of Vailankanni Church in Farla, following the Holy Eucharist officiated by Fr. John Prakash Pereira. Immediately after the mass, the program commenced on the church premises, All parishioners of Farla were present and witnessed this event.

Distinguished members from various committees were present at this gathering, including Fr. John Prakash Pereira, the Parish Priest; Mr. Naveen Menezes, the Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council; Mrs. Hilda Pereira, the Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council; Mrs. Sunitha Rodrigues, the Coordinator of 21 commissions; Mr. Alwyn Vas, the Animator of the Environment Commission; Mrs. Zita Menezes, the Animator of the Youth Commission; Robert Fernandes, the ICYM Animator; and Kevin Rodrigues, the ICYM President.

Rev. Fr. John Prakash Pereira delivered a heartfelt speech emphasizing the significance of protecting the environment and distributed saplings to the dignitaries as a gesture of appreciation and a symbol of unity. Continuing this noble initiative, saplings were also distributed to all the Ward Gurkars. Led by the ICYM members, the parish priest, and the esteemed dignitaries, a tree-planting activity was carried out around the church premises. Finally, every household in the parish received a plant as a gift, signifying the collective responsibility for nurturing and safeguarding the environment.
