Aug 20 : ICYM Kinnigoli along with the Family Commission conducted a session on “Freedom from Drinks, Drugs & Depression” for the people of Immaculate Conception Church, Kinnigoli on 20th August 2023 from 8.30 am to 11.30 am in the church hall.
Rev Fr. Faustine Lucas Lobo - Director of ICYM Kinnigoli Unit, Rev Fr. Vivek Deepak Pinto - Asst Director, Rev Fr. Lancy Saldanha, Resource Person Dr Lavina Noronha - Director Ave Maria Palliative Care and co-ordinator of Suicide Lifeline, Resource Person Dr Surfraz Hashim - Principal, P A First Grade College Mangalore and a specialist on "Mind Mapping", William Dsouza - Parish council Vice-president, Michael Pinto - Parish council Secretary, Family Commission Representative Shaila Aranha, Naveen D’Costa - 21 Commissions’ representative and Rohan Fernandes - ICYM President were the Dignitaries on the dais.
The Programme started at 8.30 am with a breakfast for the people. The programme began by invoking God's blessings through a prayer song. Shaila Aranha welcomed the guests. The inauguration of the programme was done by the guests present on the dais by lighting the lamp.
The 1st session was conducted by Dr Lavina Noronha. The talk was on Preparing children for failure and Prevention of suicide cases.
The 2nd session was conducted by Dr Surfraz Hashim. The talk was on Drug Awareness.
After completion of both the sessions there was a doubt clearing session for the audience. Sarah Mathias ICYM Secretary presented the vote of thanks marking the end of the programme.
