Jan 10, 2024 : The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Neerude Unit at St. Roque Church, Neerude, uniting the parish community, orchestrated a lively celebration during the Christmas season. The focal point was the Greeting Card competition, where numerous participants from the Neerude unit displayed their artistic flair. The event saw a significant turnout, with parishioners vying for the coveted first, second, and third prizes. In addition to the greeting card extravaganza, the Crib and Star competitions brought a traditional touch to the festivities, with consolation prizes recognizing the commendable efforts of participants.
All these engaging competitions transpired during the 4th week of December, creating an atmosphere of joy and camaraderie within the Neerude unit. The church community embraced the Christmas spirit as parishioners from Neerude poured their creativity into crafting cribs and stars, contributing to the vibrant celebrations.
The prizes were unfolded on the night of December 31st, coinciding with the New Year Mass. Amidst the anticipation of a new beginning, parishioners from the Neerude unit gathered to witness the distribution of prizes, adding an extra layer of excitement to the New Year celebration. Thanking the director Rev. Fr. Alban Rodrigues and President Royden Vaz along with ICYM members, succeeded in fostering a sense of community engagement and festive joy, making these events memorable for all.
