Jan 18 : Interward Cricket and Throwball Tournament was organised by the ICYM Bajpe unit on 14th January 2024, at St. Joseph’s High School Grounds. 

The event commenced at 9:00AM, with a formal program. Parish Priest Rev.Dr. Ronald Cutinha, Managing Director of Angelic Aroma Company Mr. Mohammed Safwan, Parish Pastoral Council Vice President Mr. Stany D’souza, Secretary Mrs. Gracy Sequeira, ICYM Vice President Mr. Joyel D’souza, Secretary Ms. Melria Saldanha and Sports Secretary Mr. Briston Pinto were the dignitaries on the dais.

Mr.Joyel Dsouza welcomed the gathering. This was followed by a prayer song led by the ICYM members. Parish Priest Rev. Dr. Ronald Cutinha addressed the gathering. Mr. Briston Pinto delivered the vote of thanks. This was followed by a small inauguration ceremony by the Chief guest Rev. Dr. Ronald Cutinha along with other Guests of honour, accompanied by the ICYM sports secretary. Mr. Reeve Dsouza compered the event.

15 wards participated in the Men’s Cricket and 5 teams in the Women’s Throwball Tournament. The parishioners participated with great enthusiasm and showcased their sportsmanship. 

The valedictory program commenced at 5PM. Chaplain of St. John Paul II Shrine Rev. Fr. Anil Roshan Lobo, Proprietor of Benson Electricals Mr. Praveen Rodrigues and other dignitaries were present. The results were announced by Mr. Ruben Dsouza.

St. Theresa ward emerged as the Champions of the Inter Ward Cricket Tournament and Lourdes ward won the Runners-up. The Winners of the Inter ward Throwball Tournament were St. Lawrence – II ward and St. Peter ward bagged the Second position.
