Aug 21 : The YUVA MILAN 2023 event was successfully organized at St. Joseph Church Borimar by the ICYM Borimar unit on 20th August 2023. The dignitaries present on the dais included Rev. Fr. Gregory Pereira, the parish priest; Fr. Ashwin Cardoza, ICYM Mangalore Diocese director; Steeven Martis, the parish vice president; Steeven Pais, the parish secretary; Elias Pereira, ICYM animator; Mr. Praveen Dcunha and Sharvin Dsouza, president and secretary of St. John Paul II Vitla deanery. Unit president Melita Pais and secretary Viyon Pais were also present.

The event commenced with prayer led by unit members. Unit president welcomed the gathering and the dignitaries. The dignitaries inaugurated the program formally. The parish priest addressed the youth, by inspiring and motivating them to do good work for the community. The unit secretary proposed the vote of thanks. Savitha Pinto was the MC of the program.

After the formal program, an ice-breaking session and action songs were conducted by the deanery executive committee. Later the participants were divided into four groups. Fr. Ashwin Cardoza then led a session on the benefits of joining ICYM, YCS, and the role of youth in community-building.

ICYM Diocese president Mithesh Dsouza and secretary Wilma Lobo and the executive committee members visited the Yuva Milan event. Various fun activities and games were hosted by Winston Sequeira from Hospet and Melston Noronha from Paldane. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and joy, with around 48 youths participating, ranging from 16 to 28 years old.

In total, the function lasted from 10 AM to 2 PM and was a resounding success, offering a blend of fun and informative sessions that left the participants energized and engaged.
