Oct 9 : Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Hospet unit organized ‘Khela Mel 2021’, an interward games competition for the parishioners, on 3rd October 2021 at Holy Cross Church Ground, Hospet.

The inaugural programme began at 9.15 am with a prayer song led by ICYM members. Winston Joel Sequeira - ICYM Unit President welcomed the gathering. Dr. Amar Sunil Lobo was the chief guest of the programme. Rev Fr Gregory D’Souza - Parish Priest presided over the programme along with Manohar Cutinha - Vice President & Vincent Santhmayor - Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council, Selwin Jude Colaco,Denis Fernandes and LeenaTellis - Animators ICYM Hospet Unit were the dignitaries present. The dignitaries inaugurated the event by releasing the balloons into the sky.

ICYM Hospet unit felicitated Dr. Amar Sunil Lobo, a National level athlete (Triple jump Gold medalist ) and MSc. PhD (Medical Microbiology) degree holder. He has won 72 medals so far in Masters Athletic Championship including 21 medals at National level and 51 medals at Karnataka State and D.K District level. He is also an active member of various Microbiology associations and has been awarded with a PhD in Medical Microbiology under the Faculty of Medicine by Yenepoya, Mangalore. 

During the inaugural programme, Rev Fr Gregory D’Souza, Manohar Cutinha and Dr. Amar Sunil Lobo addressed the gathering. Shiny mendonca delivered a vote of thanks. Jaison Cutinha compered inaugural ceremony.

ICYM members conducted various traditional and fun-filled games for different age groups.The event began with a marathon followed by individual and group games such as tug of war, volleyball and other games. All the ward members actively participated in this event.
