Aug 16 : Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Hospet unit organized ‘YUVA SANGATH 2022’ - a half day programme on 14th August 2022, at Hospet Church Hall.

The programme started with a prayer song led by ICYM Hospet members. ICYM Hospet Unit President Melisha Mendonca welcomed the gathering. The program was inaugurated by Rev Fr Gregory D’souza - Parish Priest, along with Rev Fr Prem Prakash Cutinha - Director of ICYM Moodbidri Deanery, Vincent Santhmayor - Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council Hospet, Winston Joel Sequeira - Vice President of ICYM Mangalore Diocese, Rostan Melan Lobo - Cultural Secretary of ICYM Moodbidri Deanery, Geo D’Silva Agrar - Resource person of the program, Perlin Tellis - Secretary of ICYM Hospet unit. Mithesh D’Souza - President of ICYM Moodbidri Deanery and Animators of ICYM Hospet Unit were also present along with other dignitaries. Rev Fr Prem Prakash Cutinha encouraged the youth to actively participate in all activities. Rev Fr Gregory D’souza also motivated the youth in his inaugural address. Winston Joel Sequiera gave his message about National Youth Sunday.

At this event, ICYM Hospet Unit felicitated Mr Winston Joel Sequeira for being elected as the Vice President of Central Council ICYM Mangalore Diocese for the year 2022-23 and Mr Rostan Melan Lobo for being elected as the Cultural Secretary of ICYM Moodbidri Deanery for the year 2022-23. ICYM Hospet unit also felicitated Ms. Jasmitha Rodrigues for securing 9th rank in B.Com division at Mangalore University for the academic year 2020-21 and Mr. Noel Jeevan Nazareth for securing 7th rank in M.A. Journalism and Mass Communication at Karnataka State Open University, Mysuru for the academic year 2020-22.

After the inaugural program, Mr Geo Agrar emphasised the values of youth life, strength, and responsibility of each individual and kept the session most engaging. Thereafter, Mithesh D’Souza along with, Pradeep Rosario and Sapna Gonsalves - Past Council members of ICYM Mangalore Diocese and Renisha D’Costa - Red Drop Representative of ICYM Moodbidri Deanery conducted fun filled games and group activities along with action songs.

Dr Nishal Preemal D’Souza- General Secretary of ICYM Mangalore Diocese also visited this event. Br Joel Monteiro distributed prizes to the winning groups in group activities. At the valedictory ceremony, the animators and President of ICYM Hospet unit presented mementos to guests and resource persons.

Mevisha Cutinha - Joint Secretary hosted the entire programme and Perlin Tellis proposed the vote of thanks. About 60 people took part and benefited from this programme.
