Dec 1 : Catholic Action League, Bendur celebrated its 87th Annual Day on 28th November, 2021. The day began with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 6.30am. The liturgy was led by the members of CAL. 

Following the mass, the Annual Day was inaugurated. A short get-together programme was held wherein the members shared their experiences as being part of CAL and games were conducted for the members. 

The annual day programme began at 6.15pm at St Sebastian Platinum Jubilee Auditorium. The programme commenced with a prayer song led by the members of CAL. A welcome song was sung by the members, welcoming the gathering. 

The programme was presided over by V. Rev. Fr Vincent Monteiro, Parish Priest. The chief guest of the day was MJF Lion Alwyn Patrao, Past district Governor, Dist. 317-D. The guests of honour were Rev. Fr Ashwin Cardoza - Director, ICYM Mangalore Diocese and Jaison Crasta - President, ICYM Mangalore Diocese. Rev. Fr Ronson Pinto - Assistant director of CAL, Rev. Fr Ashwin Crasta - Assistant Parish Priest, Mr. Stephen Pinto - Vice president of Parish Council, Mrs. Mavis Rodrigues - Secretary of Parish Council, Sanjay D’souza - ICYM ECD President, Mr. Vinod D’souza - CAL Animator, Winston Saldanha - CAL President, Amanda Frank - CAL Secretary were the dignitaries present on the dais. 

Winston Saldanha, CAL President welcomed the gathering. The Annual report of the activities undertaken by CAL in the years 2020-2022 were presented by Amanda Frank, CAL secretary. 

Prizes were distributed by the dignitaries to all the children who won various games that were held on children’s day. 

Rev. Fr Ashwin Cardoza in his message encouraged the youth to become leaders and partake in extra-curricular activities and civil services and not just limit themselves to sports. 

Chief guest Mr. Alwyn Patrao conveyed the message that CAL prepares the youth for their future. Just like a LLR prepares us to get a driving license, CAL prepares us for the rest of our lives, to get into the outside world.

V. Rev. Fr Vincent Monteiro lauded the youth for their lively participation in all activities and congratulated them for being active even amidst the pandemic situation. 

Shawin D’souza, CAL Joint Secretary delivered the vote of thanks. The formal programme was compered by Ian Pinto.

The cultural programme was set about with a group song sung by the members. The girls and boys of CAL entertained the audience with their dances. A duet was sung by Winston Saldanha and Sasha Menezes. The crowd was filled with laughter at the jokes performed. Sujay Fernandes captured the listeners with his melodious voice. The highlight of the cultural programme was a comedy drama presented by the CAL members that had the audience on their feet. The cultural programme concluded with the singing of the ICYM anthem.
