March 20, 2025 : The ICYM Bantwal Unit recently organized a 3-night, 3-day tour to Ooty and its surrounding attractions from February 15th to 18th. A team of 36 enthusiastic members, led by Fr. Lancy D'Souza, Assistant Director, embarked on this exciting journey, eager to explore the natural beauty of the Nilgiris.

The tour commenced with a prayer session at Infant Jesus Church, Bantwal, led by Rev. Fr. Valerian D'Souza. The team sought blessings for a safe and enjoyable tour, and with a sense of excitement and anticipation, they set off on their adventure.

The team's first stop was the picturesque Karnataka Garden, where they marveled at the vibrant flowers and lush greenery. They then proceeded to the Botanical Garden, home to an impressive collection of exotic plants and trees. The Rose Garden was another highlight, with its delicate blooms and serene atmosphere.

The team also enjoyed a leisurely boat ride on Ooty Lake, taking in the breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. They visited the Doddabetta View Point, which offered panoramic views of the Nilgiris. The team was awestruck by the natural beauty of the region and couldn't help but click numerous photos to capture the memories.

In addition to exploring the natural beauty of Ooty, the team also participated in several fun activities. They enjoyed a thrilling train journey to Coonoor, which offered breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. They visited a tea and chocolate factory, where they learned about the art of tea-making and chocolate-crafting.

The evenings were filled with excitement and entertainment. The team enjoyed a campfire session, where they sang hymns and songs, and shared stories of adventure and bravery. They also danced the night away under the stars at a lively disco night.
