March 20, 2025 : The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Miyapadav unit, in association with the Indian Catholic Youth Movement Kasaragod Deanery, organized a Way of the Cross titled "Cross Walk: A Journey of Faith" at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Miyapadav. Over 200 people participated in the Way of the Cross, with a significant highlight being that 100 of them were youth from Kasaragod Deanery. The event began at 3:30 PM and concluded at 5:30 PM, with all the participants engaging in a deeply spiritual and prayerful manner.

The Journey of Faith started inside the church and continued to the outdoor station statues around the church premises. Rev. Fr. Edwin Corea, Director of ICYM Miyapadav Unit, initiated the faith journey with a preparatory prayer. The youth carried a cross, symbolizing the hardships Jesus faced in His final walk. The prayers at each station were prepared by the Miyapadav unit and distributed among the 14 units of Kasaragod Deanery, with each responsible unit carrying the cross from one station to the next.

At every station, members of the responsible unit read passages from the Bible, followed by meditative reflections and prayers. At the end of each station, Deacon Br. Steevan Desa led prayers for various intentions, while the Miyapadav Choir enhanced the spiritual atmosphere with their singing. After completing all 14 stations, Rev. Fr. Vishal Monis, Director of ICYM Kasaragod Deanery, led the final prayers, and Rev. Fr. Edwin Corea blessed all the faithful, marking the conclusion of the Way of the Cross.

Following the event, Ms. Neema D'Silva, Secretary of ICYM Kasaragod Deanery, took center stage to express gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the Way of the Cross. As a token of appreciation, a special memento was presented to the Miyapadav unit for organizing such a meaningful event and bringing together 85 youth. The memento was handed over by the ICYM Kasaragod Deanery executive committee, bringing the day's events to a close.

This Way of the Cross was further enriched by the presence of Rev. Fr. Edwin Corea, Parish Priest and Director of ICYM Miyapadav Unit; Deacon Br. Steevan Desa; Rev. Fr. Raymond Santhanaz, Miyapadav Parish Family Priest; Rev. Fr. Vishal Monis, Director of ICYM Kasaragod Deanery; Sr. Sevrine, Animator of ICYM Kasaragod Deanery; Rev. Fr. Santhosh D'Souza, Assistant Director of ICYM Vorkady Unit; Mr. Melwin D'Souza, President of ICYM Kasaragod Deanery; Ms. Neema D'Silva, Secretary of ICYM Kasaragod Deanery; and Mr. Pradeep D'Souza and Ms. Saritha D'Souza, President and Secretary of Miyapadav Parish Pastoral Parishad, respectively.
