Nov 25 : Catholic Action League, Bendur celebrated its 88th Annual Day on 20th November 2022. The day began with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 6.45am. The liturgy was led by the members of CAL. After the mass, a short get-together program was held wherein the members shared their experiences as being part of CAL and games were conducted for the members.

The annual day program began at 6.15pm at St Sebastian Platinum Jubilee Auditorium. The program commenced with a prayer song led by the members of CAL. The program was presided over by V. Rev. Fr Vincent Monteiro- Parish Priest. The chief guest of the day was Mr. Audy Rego. The guests of honour were Rev. Fr Ashwin Cardoza- Director, ICYM Mangalore Diocese and Ms Sonali Rodrigues- ICYM E.C.D President, Rev. Fr Ronson Pinto- Assistant director of CAL, Rev. Fr Vivian Rodrigues- Assistant Parish Priest, Mr. Stephen Pinto- Vice president of Parish Council, Mr. Vinod D’souza- CAL Animator, Ms Amanda Frank- CAL President, Mr Joswin Pinto- CAL Secretary were the dignitaries on the dais.

Amanda Frank, CAL President welcomed the gathering. The Annual report of the activities undertaken by CAL in the years 2020-2022 was presented by Joswin Pinto, CAL secretary.

A Lucky draw was done during the programme and the prizes were awarded to the winners.

Rev. Fr Ashwin Cardoza in his message explained how getting into any organization will help us in developing our soft and social skills and thereby eliminate our stage fear.

Chief guest, Mr. Audy Rego spoke on how CAL is functioning actively and rendering their service to the parish. Adding to it, he described the qualities of a true leader and said that the members of CAL fulfill all these qualities of becoming a good leader.
V. Rev. Fr Vincent Monteiro wished the best for the members of the CAL for the event and congratulated all the parents of the members for encouraging them to organize and take part in events.

Ms Sharon Menezes- CAL Lady Cultural Secretary delivered the vote of thanks. The formal program was compered by Ms Defney D’souza.

The cultural program was set by a duet sung by Vinol D’souza and Joswin Pinto. The girls and boys of CAL entertained the audience with their dances. Sujay Fernandes captured the listeners with his melodious voice. Musicians Desmond Dcunha and Sujay Fernandes mesmerized the audience with a few instrumental numbers. The highlight of the cultural program was a comedy drama presented by the CAL members that had the audience on their feet. The cultural program concluded with the singing of the ICYM anthem.

Mr Ian Pinto and Ms Muriel Mascarenhas compered the cultural program.
