June 17 : The ICYM Episcopal City Deanery (ECD) elected its new office bearers for the year 2024-2025. The election was held on June 16th, 2024 at Our Lady of Miracles, Milagres Church Hall at 4:30PM. The election was overseen by Re. Fr. Bonaventure Nazareth – Vicar Var of ECD, Rev. Fr. Robin Joyson Santhumayor - ECD Secretary, Mr. Mithesh Dsouza - President of Central Council, Diocese of Mangalore and Ms. Wilma Viyola Lobo – General Secretary of Central Council, Diocese of Mangalore & ECD Representative.

The election began with the Prayer led by Rev. Fr. Robin Joyson Santhumayor. Ms. Sonali Rodrigues – Immediate Past President of ECD was the moderator for the day. Mr. Joswin Pinto – Outgoing President of ECD for the year 2024-2025 welcomed the gathering. Ms. Riana Dcunha - outgoing Joint Secretary of ECD presented the report of all the activities and events organised during the year 2023-2024.

Ms. Wilma Viyola Lobo – General Secretary of Central Council & ECD Representative briefed the rules and regulations of the elections followed by explaining the roles and responsibilities of Executive Committee Members. Elections were held peaceably, and the new executive committee was formed.

The oath-taking ceremony took place after the election. Rev. Fr. Bonaventure Nazareth administered the oath, emphasizing the commitment to selfless service and dedication towards the association's goals.

The newly elected office bearers are:

• Vice President Male - Mr. Meldrin Prajwal Mascarenhas
• Vice President Female - Ms. Sonali Rodrigues
• Secretary - Ms. Muriel Hansil
• Joint Secretary - Ms. Neha Dsouza
• Treasurer - Mr. Lanlyn Samuel Dsouza
• Amcho Yuvak Pratinidhi - Mr. Ian Neil Pinto
• Social Cause/Auditor - Ms. Delora Dsouza
• Red Drop Representative - Ms. Priya Dsouza
• Immediate Past President - Ms. Joswin Pinto

After the election, Rev. Fr. Bonaventure Nazareth addressed and motivated the youth and emphasized on dedication and service towards our society; followed by Rev. Fr. Robin Santhumayor emphasizing on leader and leadership skills.

Mr. Mithesh and Ms. Wilma too addressed the gathering and inspired Youth to gear up as a team and organise more and more events and build the community.

Following the ceremony, the new team posed for a group photo with Rev. Fr. Robin Santhumayor, marking the beginning of their term with a spirit of unity and dedication. The ICYM ECD is committed to contributing positively to the community and fostering social betterment through various initiatives and activities.
