Members of ICYM Bambil Unit celebrated 72nd Indian Independence Day and the feast of Assumption of Mother Mary along with the parishioners at St. John Marie Vianney Church, Bambil. The celebration began with the Solemn Eucharistic celebration at 7:00 am followed by Flag hoisting ceremony.

Joy Crasta Unit President ICYM Bambil Unit welcomed the gathering. The tricolour flag was unfurled by the Chief Guest Rev Fr Jawahar Cutinha along with the Parish Priest Rev Fr Johnson L Sequeira, Flavy Dsouza Vice President and Joachim Dsouza Secretary Parish Pastoral Council and the ward gurkars. The National Anthem was sung after hoisting the National Flag. Chief Guest delivered the message to the gathering on the significance of Indian Independence day. Melita Monteiro and Jevita Monteiro sang the patriotic songs. Vipin Crasta Unit Secretary proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Pranitha Crasta. At the end sweets were distributed to the gathering.
