April 3, 2025 : A special Lenten retreat, organized by the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Kirem and the Catholic Sabha of Mangalore North Deanery, was successfully held on March 24, 25, and 26. The retreat, which took place from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM each evening, was led by Fr. Jocy Siddakatte, Br. Prakash Dsouza, and the Divine Mercy Retreat Team, along with Rev. Fr. Oswald Monteiro and Fr. Alban from Our Lady of Remedies Church, Kirem.
The event featured confession with more than 10 fathers to facilitate it, retreat sessions followed by a Holy Mass and Adoration drawing a large crowd of over 1,000 devotees. Participants experienced a deep sense of spiritual renewal, making the retreat a memorable occasion for the faithful.

The ICYM team expresses gratitude to all parishioners and devotees from various locations, Rev. Fr. Oswald Monteiro and Fr. Alban for their guidance as well as the ICYM members and youths, Catholic Sabha representatives from both the deanery and Kirem parish and sisters of our parish (Poor sisters of Our Lady and Bethany sisters) for their efforts in making the event a success.
They especially appreciate Fr. Jocy Siddakatte and his team, Br. Prakash Dsouza, and the Divine Mercy Retreat Team and all the fathers (SVD, Denary and others) for their dedicated leadership, support and coordination throughout the retreat.
