ICYM Madanthyar unit organized “Youth Café, a day for every youth” for the youth of Madanthyar Parish on 27th Sunday at Sacred Heart High School Hall. The program was  presided and inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Lawrence Mascarenhas, the Parish Priest and  Director of ICYM unit of Madanthyar and gave his presidential remarks. Fr. Clifford Pinto, Asst Director of ICYM unit, Fr. Joel D’Souza OFM Cap, Vocation Promoter of Mangalore and Udupi Diocese of Capucin Congregation,  Fr. Sunil Dominic Lobo OFM Cap, Director of Dayalbag Agricultural Traning Institution, Mr. Gregory Sera, Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council, Mr. Ronald Sequeira, Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council, Mr. Alwyn D’Souza, Auditor of ICYM Central Council Mangalore and Sisters of Salesian and Uruslian Congregation were present for  inauguration ceremony. A theme song of ICYM Madanthyar unit which was composed by Mr. Tyson D’Cunha was released by Fr. Joel D’Souza. Mr. Jaison Gonsalves, President of ICYM Madanthyar unit welcomed the gathering while Mr. Arwin Moras, Secretary of ICYM Madanthyar Unit proposed vote of thanks. 

Fr. Joel D’Souza and Fr. Sunil Dominic Lobo were the resource persons for the youth café. Topics which discussed were Inter Faith Marriage, Youth & Media, Youth & My Parish and Youth & Faith. 12 groups of 10 each member were formed for discussion and snakes and soft drinks were constantly provided to groups while discussing the topics. After the café there was a Power Point Presentation regarding the past programs conducted and the future programs to be conducted by us. Noon meal was blessed by Fr. Simon D’Souza, Belthangady Deanery ICYM Director. There was grand dine of Chicken Birayani for all those who were present. Later a small session regarding youth and their responsibilities was delivered by Fr. Simon D’Souza. 

There was a small comedy skit by “Tarne Kalakar Madanthyar”. This skit has won third place in the diocese during Diafernce. In the evening there was evaluation of the entire program and many shared their experience about youth café. At 4.00 p.m. there was a grand DJ Dance by all the youths. 110 youths participated in this grand celebration. Mr. Rohan Lewis compered the entire program.
