Jan 31 : “Sports not only enhance our physical and mental well being but also inculcates in us the values of teamwork, discipline and mutual respect that strengthens our society.”

With these thoughts in mind ICYM Madanthyar unit organized Sacred Heart Athletics Meet 2k25 for the parishioners on 12th January 2025, Sunday. In this athletics meet various track and field events were organized for people of all ages starting from the 1st std to the senior citizens of age 70. The games for children consisted of Bombing the city, eating the chakkuli etc., whereas for the elderly people games like coconut throwing, shuttle relay etc. For all the other people are various track events like 100mts, 200mts, 400mts, and 1500mts as well as field events such as shot put and long jump.

All the parishioners took active part in these events. For the final event ward wise tug of war competition as well as mixed relay was organized. The individual events and group events points were totally taken and championship along with two runner up prizes were given during the valedictory ceremony.

After the valedictory ceremony baila dance was organized and all the parishioners went with happy smiles.
