Sept 18, 2016: ICYM Nainad unit organized a unique program ‘Gadya Mathyenth Masthi’ for Nainad Parishioners for the very first time in the history of the parish on 18th September 2016.
The ICYM members escorted the guests to the dais by the rhythm of the Band. ICYM President Mr. Nelson Crasta and Secretary Ms. Glenita D'Souza symbolically welcomed the guest with the Catholic tradition of "Panpod Udaak".
The inaugural program was presided by Rev. Fr. Fredrick Montheiro, Parish Priest of Nainad Parish with Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, Rector of St Joseph Inter Diocesan Seminary gracing the event as Chief Guest.
Mr. Lawrence D'Souza - Vice President of Parish Council, Mrs. Florine Lobo - Secretary of Parish Council, Mr. Francis Fernandes - Chief Sponsor of field (Ghadho), Mr. Jovel Fernandes, ICYM President Belthangady Deanery were present on the dais.
Mr. Nelson Crasta, ICYM Unit President welcomed the gathering and Ms. Glenita D'souza ICYM Unit Secretary proposed the vote of thanks.
The event was a huge success with people of all ages participating in different categories of competition like 100 meters race, reverse race, tug of war, relay, breaking the pot, treasure hunt, frog jump, three legs race etc. In the end St. Assisi Ward clinched the overall championship shield. Thus this event was instrumental in bringing the parishioners together.
