Jan 16 : The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree: the presence of a happy society all wrapped up in each other. In the spirit of Christmas and intention of building a happy society, ICYM Balkunje unit along with Catholic Sabha Balkunje organised 'Souharda Christmas' on 1st January 2023, at St. Paul's church ground, Balkunje.

Rev Fr Gilbert Dsouza, Parish Priest of St. Paul's church Balkunje, Shri Kshetra Kemaru Sandheepani Sadhanashrama Shri Shri Eeshavitaladhasa Swamy, Rev Fr Michael D'silva, Parish Priest of St. Thomas the Apostle Church Ammembal, Maulana Abdul Haziz Dharimi of Muhiyudheen Juma Masjid Chokkabettu Surathkal, Mrs Mamatha Poonja President of Balkunje Grama Panchayat, Dr Freeda Rodrigues Vice President of Balkunje Parish Pastoral Council, Mr. Samshuddin, Convenor of Blood Help Care Karnataka(R), Mrs. Nancy Cardoza, Secretary of Balkunje Parish Pastoral Council, Mrs. Lavina Serrao, Convenor of Pastoral Commissions, Melreeda Jane Rodrigues, President of Catholic Sabha Balkunje, Carolin Chris Dsouza, President of ICYM Balkunje and Clarissa Maria Cardoza Secretary of ICYM Balkunje were present on the dais.

 The program was inaugurated by tying the hands of puppets representing the unity among people of various faiths. The program included prize distribution along with felicitation for the sponsors. This was followed by cultural events by the parishioners. ICYM president Carolin D'souza welcomed, Catholic Sabha president Melreeda Rodrigues delivered the Vote of Thanks. The program concluded with distributing cake and by wishing a happy and prosperous new year to all.
