Jan 26 : The timeless tradition of the Christmas crib, originating in the 13th century, was revitalized by St. Francis of Assisi in 1223. His live nativity scene brought to life the humble birth of Jesus Christ, inspiring generations to come.
The ICYM Balkunje unit has beautifully rekindled this custom by setting up a stunning Christmas crib within the St Paul church-Balkunje premises. This heartfelt display, featuring Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, angels, shepherds, and animals, poignantly recounts the sacred event of Christ’s birth in Bethlehem.
To add to the festive ambiance, the unit also adorned the church premises with twinkling stars, symbolizing the Star of Bethlehem that guided the Magi to Jesus.
During this activity, the members of ICYM joined hands together to make this wonderful Crib, fostering a spirit of unity and teamwork.
