April 14 : On occasion of the Lenten season, a serene and spiritually enriching Taizé Prayer session was held at Surathkal Parish on 5th April 2025 at 6:30 PM, guided by Asst. Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Richard Dsouza. The evening began with a warm and heartfelt welcome by Mr. Norbert Misquith 21 Aayog convener, who also gave a brief introduction to the significance and essence of the Taizé form of prayer.
The session was beautifully accompanied by a soulful choir, performed jointly by the Surathkal Parish Choir Group and the Katipalla Parish Choir Group, adding a reflective and meditative atmosphere to the entire gathering.
The faithful from Surathkal and surrounding areas participated in large numbers, reflecting their deep devotion and eagerness to be part of this meaningful spiritual experience. The prayer proceeded gracefully and was marked by moments of silence, chants, and scripture readings, leading to a tranquil and prayerful ambiance.
The Parish Priest V. Rev. Fr Austin Peter Peres led the adoration, further deepening the spiritual essence of the evening and allowing the faithful to experience the presence of the Lord in silence and devotion.
As the session concluded, Fr. Richard Dsouza expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the attendees. He especially acknowledged the contributions of those who worked behind the scenes to make the event a success, with special mention of the ICYM members of Surathkal for their dedicated efforts.
The prayer session came to a close on a peaceful and uplifting note, leaving the congregation spiritually nourished and united in faith.
