Aug 14 : On the occasion of National Youth Sunday, the ICYM Panir unit, along with YCS, organized "Yuva Milan 2024," a one-day program for all the youth of Panir Parish on August 11th, 2024, starting at 8:30 am at the old church premises.
The dignitaries on the dais included Panir Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Victor Dmello, Parish Council Vice President and Secretary Mrs. Saritha Dsouza and Mrs. Gretta Dcunha, ICYM South Deanery President and Red Drop Representative Clinton Cutinha and Avith Lobo, ICYM Animator Mrs. Flora Castelino, YCS Animators Sr. Lavita and Mrs. Sunitha Veigas, ICYM Panir President Deepak Rodrigues, and YCS Panir President Royston.
The program began with a prayer song led by the YCS unit to invoke God's blessings. The stage program was led by ICYM Panir Secretary Joel Dsouza. The ICYM Panir President welcomed all the dignitaries, and later, they officially inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. The stage program concluded with a vote of thanks by ICYM Joint-Secretary Jesika Dsouza.
After the stage program, an ice-breaking session was conducted along with action songs.
The first session was conducted by Ms. Sobha Jacintha Dsouza, faculty of the Department of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya. The session focused on "Leadership," where she emphasized the attitude and confidence the youth should possess and the qualities of a good leader in society.
The second session was conducted by Fr. Naveen Pinto, Administrator and Professor of Canon Law, St. Joseph Seminary. The session addressed "Inter-faith Marriage," where he discussed the reasons youth may enter into such marriages, the challenges that can arise post-marriage, and ways to avoid potential issues.
Following this, all the youth participated in the Mass, which was followed by Holy Eucharistic Adoration led by Fr. Victor Dmello and Fr. Naveen Pinto.
After lunch, Ms. Jevita Ferrao, ex-president of ICYM South Deanery, spoke about how ICYM and YCS shape the lives of youth and motivated non-members to join ICYM. After this, games and fun events were conducted.
With 110 youths from the parish participating, the entire program was a success, filled with joy, enthusiasm, and learning.
