Sep 5 : Indian Catholic Youth Movement unit of St Sebastian Church, Permannur celebrated Teachers’ Day - 2022 on Sunday 4th of September, 2022 at 4:30 p.m. At the entrance, teachers were served with a welcome drink.
The program began by invoking God’s blessings through a prayer song. ICYM secretary Mr Dailesh Dsouza welcomed the gathering.
Remembering Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary and Saint Mother Theresa on her 25th death anniversary, the guests paid their respects to these great souls by offering flowers.
This was followed by fun games and quizzes for the teachers conducted by Ashvia Anna Lasrado and Mr Deril Dsouza. A short cultural program was presented by the members which included dance and wishing song. A feedback chart was set up for the teachers to write down their feedback about the program.
During the concluding program, the chief guest of the program, Sr Joseph Mary, Superior of Bethany Convent expressed the importance of a teacher in one’s life. Rev Fr Cyprian Pinto, Parish Priest presided over the program, who in his speech exclaimed the hard work of the youth and congratulated them. Parish Pastoral Council Vice President Mr Maurice Monteiro, secretary Ms Philomena Dsouza, ICYM animator Mr Deril Dsouza, President Ms Ashvia Anna Lasrado and Secretary Mr Dailesh Dsouza were also present on the stage.
Prizes were distributed to all winners. All the teachers were presented with a token of gratitude. Donors and Guests were presented with a token of love. President Ms Ashvia Anna Lasrado expressed the vote of thanks. Refreshments were served after the program. The program went on for about 2 hours. Around 60 teachers were present. Mr Wilson Tellis compered the program.
