Aug 9 : Indian Catholic Youth Movement, Permannur hosted Aqua Splash – 4.0, an Inter Ward Water Games Event on 4th of August 2024 at St Sebastian’s School ground. The program began by welcoming the guests to dais with the tunes of the school band. After which 24 teams marched forward led by I.C.Y.M President. God’s presence was invoked through a prayer song led by the I.C.Y.M members.

The program was inaugurated in a very special and creative way. V. Rev. Fr Cyprian Pinto, Parish Priest, St Sebastian Church, Permannur presided over the program. V. Rev. Fr Johnson Denzil Pereira, Asst. Parish Priest, Mr. Alwyn Dsouza as game convener, Mrs. Jyothi Dsouza, Secretary Parish Pastoral Council, Sr. Joseph Mary, Superior Bethel Convent, Mr Rudolph Dsouza, Convener Youth Commission , Sr Jyothika, Headmistresses St Sebastian Eng Med School, Mr. Avit Premsom Lobo, Deanery Rep, Mr. Deril Dsouza, Animator, Mr Rayan Dsouza, Animator, President Ms. Rishal Dsouza and Secretary Ms. Nishitha Lobo were present on the dais.

President Ms Rishal Dsouza welcomed the gathering. Fr Cyprian Pinto in his presidential speech appreciated the youth for organising such a great event to bring about unity among the parishioners and wished good luck to all the participating teams.

Mr. Alwyn Dsouza conducted the games. All the donors and well wishers were thanked and presented with a token of gratitude.

24 wards with 240 participants took part in the competition. Fathima 1st ward emerged as the Champions, Infant Jesus Ward as 1st runner up and St. Sebastian 1st ward as 2nd runner up. Fathima 1st ward won 1st Place and St. Sebastian 1st ward won 2nd place in the March Past competition. President Rishal Dsouza proposed the vote of thanks. The members worked relentlessly for the success of the Event. The Event ended with Rain Dance.
