July 23 : On the occasion of Vanamahothsava the ICYM Permude Unit in collaboration with the ecology and environment organized “One Family One Plant” program on Sunday 21st July 2024 at Permude St. John the Baptist church .
The event was graced by the presence of ICYM Permude Unit director Rev. Fr. Ronald Pinto and the chief guest Rev. Fr. Vijay Machado director of Mangala Jyothi Publication Diocese of Mangalore. The president of environment commission Mr.Alphonse Fernandes and secretary Mr. Hendry Fernandes were present .The ICYM president Sony Neha Dsouza and secretary Macline Fernandes, animators Roshan Rodrigues & Vinetha Tauro were also present on the occasion.

Ms. Vinisha Marina Dsouza the ICYM joint-secretary did Master of Ceremony and Mr. Henry Fernandes the secretary of environment commission welcomed the gathering.
The chief guest Rev. Fr. Vijay Machado addressed the gathering by giving information about saving the environment by protecting nature and handed over one plant to the president of ICYM. Like wise Rev. Fr. Ronald Pinto, the director of ICYM also handed over the plant to the parish council vice-president Mr. Hendry Dchuna . Finally, all the parish council members distributed a plant for each family of the parish. Around 200 plants were distributed. The main aim of the program was not only to plant the trees but to protect them.
