Jun 24 : ICYM St. John Paul II Deanery in collaboration with ICYM Vittal unit organised 'MAGNET 2K22' on Sunday, 19th June 2022 at Vittal Church Hall. Rev Fr Ivan Michel Rodrigues, Director of ICYM Vittal Unit, Jaison Crasta Central Council President, Secretary Vishma Dicunha, Deanery President Jasmine Veigas, Secretary Pradeep Dsouza, Unit Animator Thomas Mascarenhas, Unit President Joston Lobo , Manohar Lancy Vice President and Vijay Pais Secretary Parish Pastoral Council were present.
The programme commenced with a short prayer service followed by welcoming the guests and inaugurating the event by lighting a lamp.
Rev Fr Ivan Michel Rodrigues Director, ICYM Vittal Unit addressed the gathering and encouraged the youth to take active part in the activities as well wished everyone best of luck for their upcoming programmes.
ICYM Mangalore Diocesan Executive members were present for the programme. To make this day a special one, under the leadership Jasion Crasta, ICYM Diocesan President, the executive team entertained the gathering by conducting group games, ice breaking session and team work where all the youth actively participated in the activities. There was also a session regarding " Why ICYM ?". It was a fun filled day to all the youth of the Deanery and a day to remember. Members shared their personal experience towards ICYM.
After lunch, the Deanery Election was held for the year 2022-23. Election was conducted by Central Council Joint secretary Rakesh Rego , Siddakatte. Before the Election, he briefed about the office bearers' post and their responsibilities and conducted the election smoothly. Deanery director Fr. Henry Dsouza, SFX addressed the youth.
After the elections, the former office bearers of the year 2021 - 22 handed over their charge to the newly elected office bearers.
The newly elected president spoke on the occasion and thanked everyone for electing him as the president. Former Deanery President Jasmine Veigas thanked everyone for supporting ICYM over the years and also for their co-operation. Day concluded with the ICYM theme song.
