Jan 20 : On January 19, 2025, the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Mulki unit hosted the much-awaited Fusion Carnival, a vibrant food fest and competition, at St. Joseph Hall, Karnad. The event aimed to bring the community together, showcase culinary talent, and provide entertainment for all ages.
The carnival began with a formal inaugural ceremony. The program flowed seamlessly, guided by the event MC Lavita Dsouza and commenced with the arrival of distinguished guests, Rev.Fr. Anthony Shera, the Vice President Of the Parish Council Mr. Oswald Correa and the ICYM President Mr. Vallen J D’Almeida who escorted the dignitaries onto the stage.

Lavisha led the gathering in prayer, followed by a warm welcome speech by Vallen. Shareen introduced the esteemed judges—Mrs. Daffney Dsouza, Mr. Maxim Saldana, and Mr. Robert Saldana—who were invited to evaluate the food competition. The inaugural ceremony was led by Reeshal, after which the Parish Priest delivered the Presidential Address, inspiring all with his words. Sharol concluded the formal proceedings with a heartfelt vote of thanks.
The food competition featured three enthusiastic participants representing different wards Cosses Ward, St. Joseph Ward, St. Lawrence Ward.
The judges assessed the dishes prepared by each ward based on presentation, taste, and creativity. After a thorough evaluation, St. Joseph Ward emerged victorious, winning the judges’ hearts and the competition.
Adding to the excitement of the day, ICYM members organized a variety of fun-filled game stalls, including Balloon Cups, Prize in a Cup, Magnetic Coin, Soda Guessing, Ping Pong Toss, Nut Bolt, Brick Game. These stalls attracted participants of all ages, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere.
