ICYM Mulki unit celebrated “Laudato - Si Sunday” on Sunday, 7th July 2019 at Immaculate Conception Church, Mulki.

Laudato - Si Sunday is celebrated as per the appeal by Pope Francis to the world through his encyclical “Laudato - Si” that the society must work together in order to protect our Mother Earth. ICYM Mulki unit has initiated the initiative to protect mother earth.

Youths of ICYM Mulki unit and the parishioners along with Rev. Fr Sylvester Dcosta – Parish priest, Immaculate Conception Church, Mulki gathered at the church premises to celebrate “Laudato – Si Sunday” and be a part of Laudato – Si Campaign with ardour.

The campaign began at 9:30 am along with youths of ICYM Mulki unit and the parishioners. Rev.Fr Sylvester Dcosta welcomed the gathering and addressed with a few words of awareness towards the environmental protection and distributed saplings to all ward gurkars as a mark to plant and nourish it regularly. The saplings were distributed to all the parishioners which was provided by Diocese of Mangalore under " Laudato – Si Campaign ".

On this occasion, Mr. Richard Furtado addressed the gathering and advised the youths to protect and save mother earth. Joy Dsilva – Joint Secretary, ICYM Mulki unit rendered the vote of thanks. Carol Saldanha – Member, ICYM Mulki unit compered the programme.
