Aug 29 : Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Hospet unit along with parish Youth Commission organized ‘Youth Cafe’ - a half day programme for the youth of Holy Cross Parish, Hospet on 27th August 2023, at the Church Hall.
The programme commenced with a prayer song led by ICYM Hospet members. ICYM Hospet Unit President Nikhil Jason Correa welcomed the gathering. Manohar Cutinha - Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council presided over and inaugurated the programme along with Rev. Fr. Ronald Prakash D’Souza - Parish Priest of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church, Gantalkatte; Vincent Santhmayor - Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council; Laveena Pinto - 21 Commissions Coordinator ; Denis Fernandes - Convener of parish Youth Commission; Colin Baptist D’Souza - Amcho Yuvak Editor of ICYM Mangalore Diocese and Moodbidri Deanery Representative; Brendon Cutinha - President of ICYM Moodbidri Deanery, Glany Vinita Colaco - Joint Secretary of ICYM Moodbidri Deanery, Nikhil Jason Correa - President of ICYM Hospet Unit and Ivy Sonal Rodrigues - Secretary of ICYM Hospet Unit.
During the inaugural programme, Colin Baptist D’Souza and Brendon Cutinha addressed the youth, while Manohar Cutinha encouraged and motivated the youth to actively participate in all activities. At this event, ICYM Hospet Unit felicitated Glany Vinita Colaco for being elected as the Joint Secretary of ICYM Moodbidri Deanery for the year 2023-24.
After the inaugural program, Rev. Fr. Ronald Prakash D’Souza conducted an engaging session through case studies, focusing on various topics such as One's Role in ICYM, Individual Freedom, One's Role in Community and Inter-Faith Marriage. Thereafter, Jaison Pereira - Former President of ICYM Karnataka Region conducted fun filled group games and group activities. Rev. Fr. Gregory D’Souza - Parish Priest, Holy Cross Church Hospet; Br. Avith Pais, Vijoy Cardoza - Secretary of ICYM Moodbidri Deanery and Joyston D’Souza- Former Secretary of ICYM Moodbidri Deanery were also present at this event.
Jaison Ajith Cutinha compered the programme and Ivy Sonal Rodrigues proposed the vote of thanks. Around 50 youth took part and benefited from this programme.
