ICYM Bajjodi unit celebrated 'Laudato - Si' on Sunday, 30th June 2019 at 8.00 am in Infant Mary Church premises, Bajjodi.
Laudato - Si Sunday is celebrated as per the appeal by Pope Francis to the world through his encyclical “Laudato - Si” that the society must work together inorder to protect our Mother Earth.
The celebration began with a prayer song sung by ICYM Youth. Ms. Raveena welcomed the gathering. Rev. Fr Patrick Lobo was the chief guest for the programme. Rev. Fr. Ivan Dsouza - Parish Priest, Infant Mary Church, Bajjodi, Mr. Joseph Mascarenhas - Vice President, Mrs. Irene Pinto - Secretary, Bajjodi parish pastoral council, Mr. Deepak - Animator, ICYM Bajjodi unit planted saplings and thus expressed love and concern for the nature.
Rev. Fr Patrick Lobo in his inspiring message highlighted the significance of the day. He urged everyone to join hand in hand for this noble cause and to contribute in little ways to curb the destruction of the planet. The youth planted many saplings in and around the church premises. All the parishioners - children and elders involved themselves enthusiastically in planting the saplings in pots.
The celebration came to an end with the distribution of saplings to all the families of the parish that were provided by the Bishop of Mangalore Diocese Most Rev. Peter Paul Saldanha. Ms. Heethal expressed the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Ms Pranitha.
