On 17th of June, 2018 the members of Yuva Spandan Derebail (YSD - ICYM) began their new year with the Eucharistic Celebration at 09:15 AM, wherein all the YSD members along with their animator took part. The New Office Bearers of YSD took their oath immediately after entrance hymn. Rev Fr. Austin Peter Peres, the main celebrant placed the flame on a decorated candle and inaugurated the New Year of Yuva Spandan Derebail 2018/19. The newly elected core committee members along with Rev. Fr. Gratian Alvares and their animators Mrs. Lizzy Fernandes and Mr. Jeethan Castelino lit diyas as a symbol of inauguration. The Children's Choir added to the solemnity of the service. The members of YSD - ICYM actively participated in the liturgy. Each of the core committee member had come with offerings.

Soon after the Celebration of the Holy Eucharist, the members of the Yuva Spandan Derebail along with the Unit Director - Rev. Fr. Austin Peter Peris, Associate Director - Rev. Fr. Gratian Alvares, Vice President of Parish Council - Mr. Edward Coelho, Animator - Mrs. Lizzy Fernandes and the newly appointed young animator - Mr. Jeethan Castelino gathered in the Church meeting hall. There were all together 32 youths present for the first meeting of the year. The meeting began with the prayer led by the former YSD President - Mr. Kevin Suares. YSD President - Ms. Ivy Melisha D’Souza then welcomed the gathering. Thereafter a small ice breaking session was conducted by Mr. Manish Pinto (Liturgical and Cultural Secretary, ICYM City Deanery and a member of YSD). Soon after that the annual report of the year 2017/18 was briefly read by the former YSD secretary - Ms. Maizy Fernandes and the income and expenditure report of the same year was placed before the meeting by the former YSD Treasurer - Ms. Suzan Alvares.

Rev. Fr. Austin Peter Peres then inaugurated Van Mahotsav by unveiling a plant. Saplings were then distributed to the guest and also to the former Presidents of YSD. Then the handing over of responsibility took place between the former core committee and the newly elected core committee. Mr. Edward Coelho gave a short message on belief system. Rev. Fr. Austin Peres and Rev. Fr. Gratian Alvares addressed the youth. Later Ms. Ivy Melisha D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks. The meeting concluded with refreshments and a group picture.
