Nov 16 : On the Occasion of Pearl Jubilee , ICYM City Deanery organised PEARL JUBILEE CUP-2023, Inter-parish cricket tournament (Men) and Inter-parish throwball (women) for Mangalore Diocese parishes on Wednesday November 1st 2023 at St. Joseph the Worker Church Ground Neermarga .

The inaugural began with a prayer song led by the ICYM Members of the Neermarga unit . The guests were escorted to the dais by the ICYM City Deanery President Ashton Dsouza and Secretary Ashlin Dsouza. Sr. Sujatha ,Superior Holy Cross convent was the chief guest. Rev.Fr. Paul Sebastian Dsouza, director of ICYM City Deanery was the president . Mr. Francis Gonsalves, vice president parish council Neermarga and Mrs. Usha Fernandes, Secretary Parish council Neermarga , Ms.Jeshma Saldanha , President ICYM Neermarga unit , Mr. Terrance Crasta, Regional Vice President and Deanery Representative , Ashton Dsouza , President ICYM City Deanery and Ashlin Dsouza, Secretary ICYM City Deanery were present on the dais.

Ashton Dsouza , President ICYM City Deanery welcomed the gathering, Mr Francis Gonsalves in his speech mentioned that youth must participate actively and showcase their team spirit and also wished luck for the success of the event . Ashlin Dsouza Secretary ICYM City Deanery proposed the Vote of thanks .
16 teams from Mangalore Diocese took part in the Cricket and 11 teams took part in the throwball tournaments with more than 300 players exhibiting their talents in the tournament.

Man of the Match for Cricket and Player of the Match for throwball were honoured at the end of every Match.

Team Permannur sports club were the winners of the Cricket tournament and team Loretto were the runners up of the cricket tournament. Team Bondel were the winners of the throwball tournament and Team Angelore were the Runners up of the throwball tournament.

The Valedictory Ceremony began at 6:00PM sharp at Neermarga church premises. Rev.Fr. James Dsouza Vicar Forane City Deanery was the chief guest , In his speech he congratulated all the players for participating actively and showing their true sport spirit , he also congratulated the organizers of the PEARL JUBILEE CUP for successfully organizing the tournament and wished them luck for future events. Rev.Fr James Dsouza and Rev Fr Paul Sebastian Dsouza honoured all the sponsors by giving a token of gratitude that made the event successful and at last gave the trophies and cash prizes to the winning teams.

The inaugural programme was compered by Ms. Bianca Saldanha Bondel and Valedictory Programme was compered by Ms. Arleen Dsouza Kelarai. Ashton Dsouza, President ICYM City Deanery proposed the vote of thanks.
