Oct 18 : Indian Catholic Youth Movement, Conference of Catholic Bishop's of India (CCBI) organised 2nd National Youth Conference 2019 hosted by Archdiocese of Hyderabad from 13th to 17th oct 2019 in CHAI Training Centre, Telangana.
The Inaugural mass was celebrated by Most Rev Dr Thumma Bala Archbishop of Hyderabad and Chairman of Andhra Pradesh Bishops' council and also the Chairman of Communication Commission of the diocese.
Inaugural function and cultural evening followed after the mass. Fr Chethan Machado ICYM National Director, Percival Holt ICYM National President , Shilpa ICYM National Secretary along with the committee members were present. Youth delegates from various regions participated in the conference along with their Youth Directors.
The 5 days of National Conference included group works and discussions regarding "Christus Vivit". Work shops on various topics related to youth life were given, which enlightened various youth and helped in solving various confusions. Outreach program gave wider exposure to the youths gathered. Session on Taize and its significance was explained by Taize Brothers followed by Taize prayer. Each regions performed cultural program of their region which helped in knowing the traditions and cultures of other youth.
The concluding ceremony was held on 17th Oct 2019. Most Rev Dr. Jaya Rao Polimera , Bishop of Elure Diocese celebrated the mass and National Young awardees were honored and felicitated during the valedictory ceremony.
Mr.Rohan Lewis from Mangalore Diocese was one among the National Awardee.
There were 8 delegates from Mangalore Diocese, Fr Ashwin Cardoza, Designate director of ICYM Mangalore Diocese along with Leon Saldanha President ICYM Mangalore Diocese, Veena Vas Secretary, Jaison Pereira Immediate past president, Vivian Fernandes Treasurer, Vijay Crasta Auditor, Minol Braggs PRO, Pradeep Ferrao President Surathkal deanery participated in this Conference.
The 5 days of the National Conference has inspired and moved minds of the young youth.
