When educating the minds of our youth, we must not forget to educate their hearts – Dalai Lama.

ICYM Central Council organized an informative training programme for the members of the central council on the theme “Lead, Learn, Explore, Apply, and Develop” on 8th and 9th of July 2023 at the Pastoral Centre in Bajjodi. Various sessions were held by expert resource persons. Mr Norbert Misquith conducted a session on, “How to conduct stage programs and to explore the various activities” and Mr Peter Anthony Pinto conducted a session on, “Leadership is one who Knows, Directs and Informs”.

Mr Norbert Misquith was welcomed by Ms Voila Reshma Lewis Regional Lady Representative, Joint Secretary Anisha Fernandes-DEXCO gave the vote of thanks. Rev Fr Ashwin Cardoza along with the Diocesan ICYM President Mr Mithesh D’Souza and the General Secretary Ms Wilma Lobo gave a memento as a token of gratitude to the speaker.

The session was quite interesting and informative. Mr Norbert gave insights on what type of programs could be organized pertaining to the current scenario. He explained the various types of games such as Ice Breaking, warm up games, fellowships games and so on. Some unique types of games were conducted for the DEXCO and the Central Council Members, which could be used in their units/deaneries in the future. Overall it was fun and an interactive session.

The session on “Leadership is one who Knows, Directs and Informs” by Mr Peter Anthony Pinto covered various topics on youth leadership such as, being a visionary leader, and to have a dream to be a successful leader in society. He also conducted a small group collage activity in which members actively took part. Ms Lavisha D’Souza – Lady Vice President welcomed the speaker, Mr Ashton D’Souza Council Member proposed the vote of thanks and Mr Mithesh D’Souza and Ms Wilma Lobo gave a memento as a token of gratitude to the speaker. Unique and novel insights were given by the speaker regarding the effective leadership and team building.

Rev Fr Ashwin Lohith Cardoza - Director, Mr Mithesh D’Souza- President, Ms Wilma Lobo-General Secretary and all the Central Council members were present throughout the session.
