Oct 18 : "Communication doesn't always take place through words." - Walter's Study

The Indian Catholic Youth Movement Central Council - Mangalore Diocese in collaboration with Team Astitva organized 'SODNAM' (Learning Communication through Drama). 

The event took place from 14th October 2023 at 6:30 PM to the 15th noon at Yuvajyothi, Olivet House in Jeppu.

The program commenced with a prayer led by Rev. Fr. Ashwin Lohit Cardoza, the Director of ICYM Mangalore Diocese. Mr. Mithesh DSouza, the President of ICYM Mangalore Diocese, welcomed the gathering, and the ICYM Director introduced Team Astitva. Participants from ICYM introduced themselves to one another.

Ms. Sweedal led the first session, which focused on various types of emotions and communication through actions instead of words. Each group was assigned a specific scenario, and they had to convey the situation through actions rather than words. This exercise promoted team building and helped participants understand individual body language expressed through actions.

On the second day, the 15th of October, a Holy Eucharistic Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Ashwin Lohit Cardoza. The "Sodnam" program continued under the guidance of Mr. Christopher DSouza. The morning included warm-up exercises, activities to enhance concentration, meditation, and a discussion of the role and importance of various theatrical lighting techniques.

Rev. Fr. Ashwin Cardoza expressed his gratitude by thanking the Astitva team for their joint efforts in organizing the program and presented them with a token of appreciation.
