Feb 24 : Mr. Anil John Sequeira Ex ICYM central council Mangalore Diocese president ( 2022-2023 ) of Borimar achieved an incredible feat by passing the Karnataka Civil Judge Examination 2023, including the preliminary, mains, and interview, at the young age of 25, making him Karnataka's youngest civil judge (judicial magistrate).
Mr. Anil John Sequeira, son of Mr. Everest Sequeira and Mrs. Ivy Sequeira, hailing from Borimar, Bantwal Taluk, belongs to St. Joseph Church, Borimar.
He is a youthful achiever and an active member of the Mangalore Bar Association, where he practices civil law alongside Deepak D'Souza and Naveen S. Pais.
A BBA LLB alumnus from SDM Law College in Mangalore, he has consistently displayed academic distinction throughout his educational career:
- Primary Education from: St. Joseph Higher Primary School, Borimar.
- High School Education from: Karnataka High School, Mani.
- PUC Education from: St. Philomena P.U College, Puttur.
- LLB Education from: SDM LAW College, Mangalore.
His journey to success demonstrates not only his academic ability but also his active involvement in numerous leadership positions. During his high school years, he served as the school people leader. He continued his leadership duties in college, serving as a class representative for two years and coordinator of the library advisory group, showcasing his early leadership abilities.
In addition to his academic and professional achievements, he was an active member of the Mangalore Diocese's Young Catholic Student (YCS) and Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) associations.
YCS Journey:
- Served as Treasurer of YCS Borimar Unit in 2014.
- In 2015, served as President of the Borimar Unit and the Mogarnad Deanery.
ICYM Journey:
- ICYM Borimar unit Vice-President in 2017.
- ICYM Borimar unit President in 2018.
- ICYM Mogarnad Deanery President in 2019.
- ICYM Mangalore Diocese Treasurer in 2021.
- ICYM Mangalore Diocese President in 2022.
His success in passing the Karnataka Civil Judge Examination on his second attempt at the age of 25 demonstrates his dedication, tenacity, and passion for the legal profession. His career serves as an example to aspiring legal professionals, particularly those in the Mangaluru region.
