The Central Council of Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) of Mangalore Diocese organized a training programme PSTA - 2017 to all the Presidents, Secretaries, Treasurers and Amcho Yuvak Representatives of various units and deaneries on 25th June 2017 at the C. M. Hall, Jeppu, Mangalore.
Rev. Fr. Nelson D’Almeida, Parish Priest of St Joseph Church, Jeppu was the Chief Guest of the programme. Inaugurating the training he spoke on the three aspects namely Respect, Trust, and Commitment, stressing the youth leaders to inculcate the values within them.
Rev. Fr. Ronald Prakash D’Souza, the Diocesan Director of ICYM gave the key note address in which he elaborated the need of the training programme. Mr. Joe Pereira, Shirthady who is a successful entrepreneur and the former president of ICYM shared his experience with the youth leaders and motivated them. He also asked them youth come out in a radical way and added that today they have opportunities in many ways which they must utilize to form a very strong youth community.
ICYM President Mr. Jackson Eric D’Costa, General Secretary Ms. Ancita D’Souza, Treasurer Mr. Ashwin Sequiera and PRO Mr. Joel Concessao conducted the training for the youth leaders.
In the post lunch session, former Director of ICYM Fr. Elias D’Souza explained the structure of ICYM in India.
Mr. Jovel Fernandes compeered the program. More than 250 youth were present for the training.
