Mangaluru, January 18, 2017 : The National Youth Convention of Indian Catholic Youth movement began with a grander note. NYC Cross which was traveled all over Karnataka was received by the ICYM Diocesan Team of Mangalore and was handed over to the Karnataka Regional and National Council team.
National Flag, Papal Flag and ICYM flags were hoisted, which was followed by the Inaugural Holy Eucharistic.
Most Rev. Bernard Moras, Archbishop of Bangalore Diocese presided over the Holy Eucharist. Most Rev. Henry Dsouza, Chairman CBCI Youth Council, Most Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul Dsouza, Bishop of Mangalore, Most Rev. Dr Lawerence Mukkuzhy, Bishop of Belthangady and Most Rev. Alwyn Baretto, Bishop of Sindadurgh Diocese, and Priests from various dioceses Concelebrated.
Reflecting on the word of God Bishop Lawerence Mukkuzhy explained “how the conversion took place in the life of Zachaeus and his sacrifice to see Jesus; same was in the case of St Paul”. Keeping these personalities as an example, Bishop Mukkuzhy urged the youth to remember the three things i.e. Deep desire, Zeal to pass it on to other people the experience that was received and to be loyal to Jesus. Finally he gave a call to all the youth delegates to build the nation touched by Jesus.
