ICYM Mangalore diocese central committee in association with ICYM Bajpe and Pejawar unit conducted a Sarwa Dharma Sammelan or All religions meet at the Central Ground here on Monday.
While addressing the gathering Kemaru Sandheepani Sadhanashrama Shri Eesha Vithaladasa Swamy said, "We need to build an alcohol free society and it can be possible by the efforts of the priests".
Mangaluru Chokkabettu MJM Maulana U K Abdul Haziz Darimi said that "Today every act of crime and violence is due to consumption of alcohol. Humanity, love and brotherhood are the core elements of the religion, so we must bridge the gap between the followers of different religions".
Shimoga diocese ICYM director Rev Fr Ronald Veigas said “Religion is not owned by one individual. We should be clean from within and our duty should be spreading the kingdom of God to all”.
On the occasion St Joseph College girls who were selected for the national level football tournament were felicitated. They were Kavya V, Ahaliya Khan, Lenisha Fernandes, Crystal Pinto, Johnes La Cutinha and also Harshitha Kotyan who was the champion in the tournament held and got selected for the national level.
