Jan 24 : On 25th December on Christmas day, Sacred Heart church Madanthyar in association with inter religious commission, Indian Catholic Youth Movement Madanthyar unit and Catholic sabha Madanthyar organised inter religious Christmas meet ( ಕ್ರಿಸ್ಮಸ್ ಸೌಹಾರ್ದ ಕೂಟ).
The programme began with a procession from Ashadeepa road to Nutan cloth centre, with the guests, band, Santa Claus and all the people.

Fr Basil Vas, parish priest, was the president of the programme. Chief guests were :
Major General M.V Bhat, Governor Rotary village 3181.
Mr Ashraf Ali, ಮುಂಡಾಜೆ, reporter and trainer
Prof. Joseph NM, Principal, Sacred Heart College
All three speakers spoke about love and service. Instead of investing in hatred among religion, people must invest in love and service.

Finally Fr Basil Vas delivered a Presidential speech and Mr Leo Rodrigues, vice president of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church Madanthyar delivered vote of thanks.

After the programme, on the church ground, Tulu drama named 'ಪಾಂಡುನ ಅಲಕ್ಕ ಪೊಂಡು' was staged where around 1000 people gathered.
