ICYM Venur unit celebrated National Youth Sunday and Environmental Day at Christ King Church Venur on Sunday 5th August 2018. The Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI) observed 5th August 2018 as National Youth Sunday. To mark this occasion ICYM Venur unit celebrated Youth Sunday by taking up Sunday Liturgy in the parish. The liturgy was conducted in a very sacred and systematic way by the members of the unit. On this auspicious day members of ICYM Venur unit incollaboration with Catholic Sabha, Venur unit celebrated Environmental day to make this day more valuable. Jovita Dsouza welcomed the gathering. Chief Guest Sunil Kumar. K, Forest Officer Venur Zone recognized the love given by the unit members towards the nature every year and appreciated the efforts put up to grow a healthy environment. He also said every organization must celebrate Environmental day every year so that there won't be any Environmental problems to be faced in the future.
Rev Fr Arun Lobo Principal St. Antony College Naravi in his presidential address he said " ICYM Members of Mangalore Diocese are very particular about Environmental day celebration. Especially Venur unit is known for their altruistic works for the society and its development ". Jenifer Mascarenhas proposed the vote of thanks. Ronson Tellis compered the programme. After the inaugural programme everyone joined hands in planting saplings and ICYM members took oath to water the saplings regularly to grow and to take care of Mother Nature.
