Indian Catholic Youth Movement Venur Unit celebrated 72nd Indian Independence Day and Feast of Assumption of Blessed Mother Mary on 15 August 2018 at Christ King Church Venur. The celebration commenced with the Holy Eucharistic celebration followed by hoisting ceremony of tricolor flag.
On the occasion of 72nd Indian Independence Day Rev Fr Stany Rodrigues in his presidential speech addressed the gathering by saying "We should be proud to be a respectable citizens of India who has the richest history in the whole world. Its been 72years that we have become independent and the country has changed its existence throughout the years and marked its place in the world ".
India’s pride National tricolor flag was unfurled by Rev Fr Stany Rodrigues and Ronald Dsouza Vice president Parish pastoral council and the respect was conveyed to the tricolor flag by saluting and singing the National Anthem along with Steevan Dcuhna Secretary Parish pastoral council, ICYM Co-ordinator Sr Wilma, ICYM President Delson Dsouza , ICYM vice president Rupert Michael Pais were the dignitaries on this auspicious occasion. Jovita Dsouza Former Secretary ICYM Venur Unit welcomed the gathering and compered the programme. Delson Dsouza proposed the vote of thanks.
