Nov 25 : ICYM Panir Unit, in collaboration with the Catholic Sabha Panir Unit, Health Commission, Social Commission, Youth Commission, and Women's Commission, organized a Free Medical Check-up Camp and Blood Donation Camp on November 17, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Panir, in partnership with Fr. Mullers Hospital, Mangalore.

The camp commenced with a brief formal program. Dignitaries present included Panir Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Victor Dmello, along with Vice President Mrs. Saritha Dsouza, Secretary Mrs. Gretta Dsouza, All-Commission Coordinator Mr. Ronald Dsouza, Catholic Sabha Central President Mr. Alwyn Dsouza, Panir Catholic Sabha President Mr. Noyel Pinto, ICYM Panir  President Mr. Deepak Rodrigues, Lion's and Leo Club Mangalore President Mr. Jayaraj Prakash, and Dr. Elroy Saldana from Fr. Mullers Hospital.

Deepak Rodrigues welcomed the gathering, and Rev. Fr. Victor Dmello addressed the audience, emphasizing the importance of blood donation and healthcare initiatives. The formal program concluded with a vote of thanks by ICYM Secretary Mr. Joel Dsouza.

Following the formal program, Dr. Elroy Saldana conducted a half-hour session on cancer, creating awareness about the disease and its prevention.

Over 250 people attended the camp, which offered a range of services, including general medicine consultations, dermatology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, gynecology, ENT, ECG, blood pressure checks, and blood glucose tests. Approximately 100 volunteers participated in the blood donation camp, resulting in the collection of 65 units of blood. Lions and Leo club Mangalore provided free spectacles for the patients.

The camp received appreciation from all, thus turning out to be a successful event .
