Sep 6 : ICYM-PYC Gurpur and parish youth commission jointly organized PYC CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SEASON – 1, 5A side football Tournament on 3rd September 2023 after the Eucharistic Mass, in the Pompei Football Ground to create awareness regarding prohibition of usage of drugs. The program began with the inauguration ceremony. ICYM - PYC Director, Rev. Fr. Rudolf Ravi D'sa, a well-known football player Mr. Anton Menezes as the Chief Guest, Parish Pastoral Council Vice President Mr. Romans Lobo, Parish 21 Commissions Coordinator Mrs. Hilda Menezes, Karnataka Regional Vice President Terrence Crasta, ICYM - PYC Animator and Youth Commission Secretary Godwin Tauro, ICYM - PYC President Vaibhav Rodrigues and ICYM - PYC Sports Secretary Christon Fernandes were the dignitaries on the dais.

ICYM - PYC President Vaibhav Rodrigues welcomed the gathering. Chief Guest Mr. Anton Menezes motivated all the players and wished good luck for the tournament. Later the dignitaries on the dais attached the ANTI DRUG Logos to the 9 team captains and announced the SAY NO TO DRUGS slogan of this campaign. Next, ICYM - PYC Director Rev. Fr. Rudolf Ravi D'sa appreciated the youth for organizing many events to the parishioners and blessed the players and the tournament. This is the first time ICYM-PYC Gurpur is organizing the football tournament and 56 players from Junior male, senior male and Girls Category with a total of 9 teams participated in this tournament. All the dignitaries on Dais took one each penalty kicks and Inaugurated the PYC CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SEASON - 1 tournament. At the end, ICYM-PYC Secretary Josvita D'Souza gave the vote of thanks. ICYM-PYC Gurpur and Youth Commission grandly conducted this Inauguration ceremony. Preema Menezes was the Master of Ceremony for this Inauguration Ceremony.

Closing Ceremony of PYC CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SEASON - 1 was conducted on 3rd September 6pm in the Pompei Football Ground. ICYM-PYC Director Rev. Fr. Rudolf Ravi D'sa, Parish 21 Commissions Coordinator Mrs. Hilda Menezes, PYC Animator and Youth Commission Secretary Mr. Godwin Tauro, ICYM-PYC President Vaibhav Rodrigues and ICYM-PYC Secretary Christon Fernandes were the dignitaries on the dais. The ICYM-PYC President Welcomed the gathering. Later prizes were distributed for all the winners as shown below.

This tournament was well organized by the entire ICYM - PYC Team. Rishal Noronha was the Master of Ceremony for the Closing Ceremony. Program was concluded with the PYC Anthem.
